Warped Tour '07 & Ikea

Early Saturday morning we headed to Barrie for this years Warped Tour, we hadn’t been since 2005 and it was amazing! Some of the bands that were playing included Coheed and Cambria, K-OS, Boys Like Girls, Cute Is What We Aim For, New Found Glory, Paramore, Poison The Well, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus and The Spill Canvas, plus about 50 other bands.

After getting through the traffic that was pretty much the entire way there and waiting in the line under the burning hot sun while ticket scalpers got in various fist fights, we 2007_08110015got in and caught Paramore, who was one of Cassie’s favourite bands playing. We hadn’t seen them before, but they were my favourite of the day. The lead singer, Haley, was so great to watch, she seemed like the perfect rock and roll girl, and I sort of wish she was one of my best friends.

Billy caught only a few minutes of the Poison the Well set which he had been really excited to see, but what we did hear was really good. We also watched Boys Like Girls who were great, and Red Jumpsuit Apparatus was also really good live.

K-OS also put on an amazing show. He had a hilarious backup dancer who spent most of his time dancing various 80’s throw back moves with a wider than normal grin, he must have been one of K-OS’s buddies or something, but it made for an awesome performance.

The set up this year was a little weird. There was only one area where you could get food and drinks, and the lineup at times was out of control. But once you got through and gave them your $100 hot dog ticket, it was pretty good.

The last show of the day was Coheed, Billy’s favourite performance by far, and it was well worth the wait. After eight or so hours of dirt, dust, sun, and the horrific realization that the entire park had run out of Tri-coloured popsicles, Coheed’s set managed to get everyone up and singing, it was really awesome.

On Sunday we took a drive to Ikea to pick up some of the things we need for our new bedroom furniture. We’re thinking of having the heavy things delivered, but we picked up a few new duvet covers, sheet sets, our new duvet and pillows, and a bunch of little things like candles and laundry hampers.

The duvet covers we picked were so nice, they will look perfect with our new bed and our walls. Here are the two we picked:

Before we have the new furniture set delivered we are going to get the guest room painted and ready for our old bedroom furniture. Once it’s all done it should look pretty cool!

2007_08110004The rest of our weekend consisted of the final Weeds episodes, a movie here and there, and the standard running around after Cohen, Arthur and Lola. As you can see from this picture, Cohen and Artie are still inseparable. While this was taken, Lola was up in the guest room scowling.
