Yellowcard at the Phoenix

Yet another great show this fall. Yellowcard is one of those bands that doesn't have a single bad song, every song is great, and even if you haven't ever heard them before, you'll love their music.

We have no pictures to share, thanks to the stupid bouncers (Note to stupid bouncers, you may have misunderstood your role; you are not the FBI, no kids, you're just lame bouncers). Apparently our camera bordered professional (which is  sort of awesome) and they made us walk back to the car to put it away.

This was the first show I'd seen at the Phoenix since Bob Dylan, and it is officially my new favourite venue. There isn't a bad seat in the house, the sound is great, and it's small so you can see everything, even without glasses (which if you're me is pretty awesome).

On our way to T.O. we were certain we would miss a good chunk of their set. Doors opened at 6:30, and we got to the front door at about 8:20, but they hadn't started yet so we were pretty happy. We got in, got ourselves a drink and a great spot, and then the band came on. We had a really great time, despite several arrogant doormen and a wicked amount of traffic on the Gardiner. But we were hardly paying attention, since we made a quick stop before the drive home to get gas and snacks, always a must for a car ride. Has anyone ever tried those extra huge Reese Peanut Butter Cups? If you haven't, well, all I can say is, they are pretty serious.

  1. It sounds like you guys had a great time!

  2. p.s. i think you have your time set up wrong as its only 9:40 am when i posted my comment and it says 1:40pm.

  3. Ya we really did!! And ya, the time thing keeps happening, ha ha, one of these days I'll figure it out!
