Billy's Promotion, Thanksgiving, Hot Hot Heat, Mange Club

I guess it’s about time for a wrap up of the past little while in the Duckworth House. Things have been great! Busy, but great.

On Friday of last week, before our lovely long weekend, Billy got some very cool news about work, he got a promotion! So he is now in charge of Mechanics and Hydraulics, and although I have no idea what it means, I’m sure it’s some sort of fancy schmacy thing that he is going to love! I believe there may be some homework involved, much to his chagrin, but luckily he happens to have a girlfriend who is a total nerd and finds homework fascinating who will help motivate things.

Saturday was our first Turkey Dinner up at the fam’s new house, and I have to say it was a bit of a party! Well, it was just us, Norine, Don, and Cassie, but there was also a stop at the Liquor store first which always leads to a good time. We had a great dinner, took home lots of leftovers (thanks Norine!!!) and watched the hockey game. At about 2:30 we thought it may be best to call it a night, and off we went.

Day 2 of Thanksgiving-fest was Sunday at my Mom and Dad’s which was also amazing!! Stuffing and turkey and brussel sprouts galore. PLUS two types of dessert, one that was filled with chocolate, the other cheesecake. I of course had one of each. We got to see my Grandma and Papa too which was also really great.

The final day of our long weekend was at first pretty laid back. Sweat pants, tv, the usual. But at about 6:30 we hopped in the car and drove to T.O. for Hot Hot Heat. And just for the record, this is one of the coolest bands. Ever. His voice sounds exactly the same live, and they put on a really cool show. They have a new album too which I hadn’t heard, but the songs they played were all amazing.

And that was our weekend! Since then we had our monthly Mange Club, which was a total success. It was at Boo’s Bistro, very chic, and we all had a great time. After dinner Steph and I had a few drinks…and some more food (Boo’s food was very chic, but very tiny) at the Honest Lawyer. They have a pretty cool menu, really well priced and about 37565 cocktails to choose from. Next month is my turn to chose the place. I think this time around I’m going to bring a camera…we need to start documenting our Mange Club outings!!!
