December 1st! Where did 2008 go? Yikes.

We had a pretty nice weekend, busy as usual. Saturday Ashlee and I kicked off our Christmas shopping at the overly crammed Limeridge Mall. Every year I know less and less what to buy for people. In a few years we’re going to have to resort to envelopes of cash under the tree. I also made a visit to Strut for another haircut, yes another! It’s not much shorter, just a little more textured. Love it, of course. Michelle is amazing. So good in fact, that Rach will be the next of the group to pay her a visit.

Later that night we all met up at the Honest Lawyer for a healthy serving of beer and bar food. We also stopped in to Diavlo for a last minute dance party. Does anyone know if this is the ONLY place left in Hamilton to host a good dance party? Hess Village has become he place where Techno has been left to die. Along with overly dressed and overly cologned men. Ew.

Yesterday was grocery and movie day in the Duckworth household. While Billy slept in Cohen and I snuggled on the couch watching one of the best chick flicks I’ve ever seen, The Jane Austen Book Club. I’m not sure if you have to be an Austen fan to appreciate this movie…or if being a fan made me love the movie more. But either way, it’s officially on my Christmas wish list. Santa Duckworth has been heavily tipped off.

We also watched Fred Claus. As most people know, Vince Vaughn is a comedic genius. He can do no wrong as far as I’m concerned. This was no exception. While it was laced with a hefty dose of holiday cheesiness, it was done so well. And how cheesy can a movie really be where Kevin Spacey is the bad guy.
