Nursery Paint

Happy Tuesday everyone!

I took an extra day this past weekend....being able to sleep for 5 minutes each night is taking it's toll on me.  Silly me for thinking I'd sleep blissfully right up until the baby arrives.

Anyway, this was yet another productive weekend in the nursery. Three coats of paint on the ceiling (which is now actually WHITE), and a first coat of paint on the walls....and then a roadblock. The soft, pale blue that I had chosen was not so soft. Or blue.

On the chip itself, I had thought it would be a lovely, light blue grey. Bud sadly, when I got a good amount of paint on the wall, it just looked purple to me. So Behr's 'Melody' had to be corrected.

Then I remembered Corinne and Kris' bedroom! We had been there recently for the first time, and I remember actually mentioning that it would be the perfect colour for our little guy's room. So, a quick text and soon we were at Home Depot (for the 75th time this month), picking up Misty Surf! Thanks Corinne for your help with that, it's perfect!!!!

And so, within the span of two days the room went from

melody

to...

misty

And it's MUCH better.

Anyone in the market for periwinkle purple/blue paint, let me know, I have a ton of it!

  1. Wow, those paint chips look so similar to me, it's crazy how you never know what you're gonna end up with!! I'm glad you're happy with the final product :) Can't wait to see it!!!

  2. Paint chips are so deceiving - they need to make them 4 ft by 4 ft or something. Plus colors change so much in the daylight, night time, sunshine, dreary days. Misty Surf definitely doesn't appear to have that lavender undertone!
