Our story so far in a nutshell...
My amazing husband Billy and I met in April 2005 during a Death from Above 1979 show at a rather seedy pub in our home town. He was a very tall, very handsome guy with stars tattooed behind each ear and a smile that made me melt. And something about him...I knew he was meant to be the one who would make the rest of my life make sense. That summer ended up being the most amazing time of our lives...between the incredible concerts we went to, camping trips every weekend, late night dance parties, it was the beginning of everything for us.
In 2007, Billy asked me to marry him in pyjamas over hot chocolates on Christmas morning (which was how my Dad proposed to my Mom, and Billy knew how much I adored that story). The following September I married the coolest man I have ever known. Our wedding was everything we could have hoped for, and so perfectly us. You can read about the whole process here.
Shortly after our wedding, we bought a new home and moved into what can only be called the suburbs of our city...and although we miss living downtown from time to time (ok, well I do, he hated it), we walked into this house and new it was our forever home. The one where we would have a family, and host Thanksgiving, and essentially live happily ever after. It's very much a work in progress, but you're welcome to check out some before and afters.
Right around our two year anniversary, Billy and I found out that we were expecting our first baby. And what a whirlwind that was. I was flooded with emotions...fears, excitement, panic, the works. I guess you could say I wasn't your typical pregnant lady, there were no monthly belly pictures, no online ticker showing how many weeks along I was. It was just a waiting game, and while I waited, I wondered how I would step into this new role as 'Mom'...and would I be terrible or not.
On May 6th, 2011, the love of our lives was born. Benjamin, our son, is the absolute best thing that has ever happened to us. It took me seeing his perfect face to know that I would be ok...and that there will never be a more amazing thing in my life than being his Mom.
And talk about being a looker. My goodness.
So, here we are, Adriane, Billy, and now lovely Benjamin. A family of our own.
The A & B Stories will be my way of sharing our life with the world, but it will also be my outlet for my many loves. Painting, interior design, get togethers with family and friends, cooking, ridiculous television shows (I have a bizarre affinity for teen drama)...
Please join us, and say hello from time to time!
